Multi-Site Anime Downloading: Evulness Personified
While my heart and brain have no intention of revealing my evulness, my hands are somehow betraying me (and thus, typing out this not-so-nice entry). Arghh…. no… I leech from multiple sites at once, using each as a mirror. This just means that I’m using a download accelerator like Getright and splitting the file into multiple parts, with each part being downloaded from a different direct download site.
Given the large number of direct download sites now available, it really isn’t difficult to find multiple sites that serve the same episodes, especially the more recent episodes from the popular series (e.g. Bleach, Naruto, Black Cat, etc.). But admittedly, this kind of behavior isn’t considerate of the server resources of the various direct download sites. By downloading from multiple sites at once, I’m taxing the servers of all the sites I download from (instead of just one). Bandwidth isn’t so much a problem though since my connection is absurdly (relatively) slow in the first place.
That’s why I’ve been limiting this evul behaviour to only the latest and newest episodes that I just have to watch. On a similar note, I’ve been trying out Getright’s Bittorrent integration, and… it sucks ass. It’s advertised as being able to integrate Bittorrent downloading with direct HTTP downloading – allowing you to exploit both sources for increased speeds. But, I haven’t managed to get it to work. Now, imagine if it did work…

No particular site really. Almost all sites allow download resume, so you should be able to split your download from many of the sites I’ve highlighted before.
You can get Fate-Stay Night from http://mrpc.us. But the earlier episodes are down at the moment as Mr PC’s main server is undergoing a datacenter relocation.

Lol. Took long enuf. Expected something like this earlier.
You do know that this post is more of an informative one, rather than me really telling you that I’m doing something like this rite?
You do know that I’m a member of paid anime DDL sites and an active buyer of DVDs rite?
Lol. Dun worry. I’m sure you didn’t. If you did, you’d know that I wasn’t serious with this post.

[...] If you ask me, I’d say that there really isn’t any reason to use so many connections to download stuff. If you want to download multiple episodes, why not just download from different sites? Even if you wanted to use multiple connections for a single episode, you could still use multiple sites, as I have explained here (of course, I’m still not sure how ethical this is). [...]
