HSB Site - Temporary Anime Direct Downloads
I’m backkk… Not that I was gone for very long though. I had some web dev. stuff to handle over at A-Level.EconoRef, so I had to take a few days off from posting here.
Anyway, enough of my excuses and back to the meat. Here’s HSB Site - a site that is providing direct downloads through their own server for a limited period of time (their email said until next month, but it could be earlier). They also have quite a lot of stuff (to say the least) in their Anime Storage section, where they provide anime hosted on free file hosts.
1) HSB Site
- Speed: Below Average (it could just be me, but my downloads kept stalling every few minutes)
- Content: 10+ completed anime series (e.g. Junni Kokki, Gundam Wing, Ranma 1/2, etc.) on their own server, and about 50+ more (both ongoing and completed anime) on free file hosts..
- Update Frequency: N/A
- Video Format: .rmvb (LQ to MQ) or .avi (HQ) or .mkv (HQ)
- Note: Free registration required, but forum posting is not required at the moment. Direct downloads hosted on their own server are temporary, but those hosted on free file hosts should not be.

What do you think the website can do to improve its service?
Beside taking the pop ups down.

Hmm, fundamentally, the pop-ups are fine - but you might want to limit the number of them for each user session.
My main concern about HSB Site is that it seems a tad slow, and stalled ever so often, compared to many other DDL sites. Is this because of ahmmm… leecher abundance? Lol.

It is also because of the traffic and I am using a shared service. But also sometime because the ads take time to loads, and then put on the impressions on the page.
I just did a little visits to the site. Took 2 seconds for the enws and menu to load, but when it was time for the laods to it takes aboue 5 seconds, and then everything else loads after it.
Another thing is, the site uses images for background and other things which also slows down the site. The layout is 1 year old, and have not had a time to make a layout which is more simpler, and does not relies as much on images.

Not. I guess it’s because the site is too big now for a shared plan. That’s also the reason that Im going to move my site to a VPS server in a few days.

It has used up more than 350gb extra. I looked through the referring urls, and who has downloaded the files. One of the referred was: http://www.national-anime.com/free_media.php
Of course those are not the only ips, there were lots of other ips getting same file and had only last 2 number differ. So here is what happened in
my hypothesies. Some Site, I believe National Anime, sent some bots to leech my bandwidth. Now, I have this extra 350gb of bandwidth to pay for.”

ZZzzz… N-A seems to be getting into a lot of messy business. It’s either that they are just a bunch of SOBs, or they’ve just got some bad PR.
