What’s the Difference Between AnimePremium and AnimePrivate?

Can someone point to me any real differences between AnimePremium and AnimePrivate (both pay-for-use anime direct download sites)?

Invitations to both have appeared by email from the same person, i.e. the owner of AnimeUpload - which both sites are affilated to. Both are hosting mostly the same anime (read their download lists from top to bottom, and you’ll see what I mean). Both seem to be using the same underlying content management system (check the path names). And both seem to have the same template style. Heck, both charge the same monthly fees.

I would go so far to say that both might be hosting anime on the same servers, and are merely two fronts for the same service. If this is true, then it’s darn “weird” that AnimePrivate has discounted long-term pricing plans (6-months and above) which AnimePremium does not. And I’m barely even scratching the surface here.

Or am I just damn paranoid (because nameservers and contact information on WHOIS seem to be widely different)?

One of the differences I see is that AnimePrivate has almost half the TB’s of AnimePremium. I’m sure they are linked somehow, but half the space is a lot.

Also, I am almost positive anime-otc.com and adc-distro.com are the same. For proof, see these links:

AnimePrivate’s invitation mail offers 1500 GB while AnimePremium offers 3500

Maybe the owners are brothers… coz the animepremium’a admin is Richard Cohen while Private’s Johan Cohen..

That’s what I thought as well when I got the email for animeprivate and went to the site and checked it out.
From glancing at both d/l lists, I couldn’t find anything different about the site (I could’ve sworn that I saw Getbackers on animepremium’s list a couple of days ago, but now its missing).
Indeed, animepremium seems to offer Gundam series which I couldn’t find on the list for some reason. And I think that animeprivate seems to offer latest releases as well.
On a final note, I think both sites offer a free series of sorts, although animeprivate’s seem to be missing.

Today i noticed that all the downloads from AnimePrivate come from adcserver1,2,3.com which are the servers for adc-distro.com, yet another anime download site.

    Thanks for all the input.

sNooZe-kun: Hmm, that might be true, but I can’t shake the feeling that they’re both on the same server(s). If not stated, this can be pretty unethical.

Trinz: True, I noticed the same thing, but it seems animeprivate has started polling for next month’s series. The structures of both sites are too similar to ignore…

hiker13526 and macrossru: Aiks. This looks even worse than I thought. I’ll have to give this a look. If there are actually so many fronts to just a server or two…

If you want I can talk to Hicham(owner of AnimeUpload) and get an official answer from him? I’ve known him since he was an affiliate of mine when he had NarutoPUB still up. So I’ll talk to him and see what the underlying difference there is between the two sites(if there is any). And yeah I was like what is up with the e-mails I swear I got one from them already lol…

As for the Anime-OTC and ADC-Distro similarity the reason that is likely is because the owner of Anime-OTC(alias of h4×0r) use to co-run ADC-Distro before he moved on to another project.

    Dear Guests & Members,

Want an official answer to this question? Her it is.

Richard and Johan Cohen are working for me at AnimeUpload, but since Richard has sold AnimePremium it is not part of the AnimeUpload Network anymore.

We needed a new premium website to integrate with AnimeUpload so we made AnimePrivate.

Now the only official websites are AnimeUpload and AnimePrivate.

AnimePrivate will have free series soon.

For more information or questions please contact us via the contact form @ http://www.animeprivate.com/contact

If that’s true then how come on SitePoint that AnimeUpload//AnimePrivate is up for sale as well?

Aidan: Thanks for the info and help.

Hicham: Nice to have an official explanation, though like Zeph, I’m in doubt about what you’re saying. There’s been quite a number of complaints about your previously-owned or managed site as well.

Zeph: Thanks for the heads up. It seems that the auction was cancelled though.

Hicham owned both sites of course his plan was to make anime premium big then sell it and remake it to make even more money. Thats exactely what he did. Told me him self.

Hmm, that sucks. But truthfully, everyone has their own motive when creating a DDL site. So, as long as the site creation and management is executed right, we as leechers shouldn’t complain (unless you’re a donator of course).

But it seems they weren’t, so that’s a problem.

I signed up at AnimePremium a week ago. After I paid, found that none of the links worked. Filed a claim with PayPal but they couldn’t do anything because it’s a service, not goods. Just went to their site today and the web host suspended their account. Scumbag took my (and a lot of other people’s) money and ran!
