Arghh… AnimeOtaku.info Down
AnimeOtaku.info - an excellent anime downloads forum - has been taken down temporarily due to personal (or actually, not-so-personal) reasons. If you have been on the forum even on a semi-regular basis, I think you’ll agree completely with what Ranma says:
Well I’m sorry to say that i lost interest in the site because of the actions i see from the mods and members, it’s really sad to see how people acts toward each other.
when i started the site i wanted a place to make friends instead it turned to be a place where people just fight. they even fight from the simplest thing. i spent a lot of time/money to keep the site going but from what i see it all becoming a disaster ..
the main reasons that got me to do this:
- Members doesn’t read the rules, create multiple accounts and fight with each others.
- The site became a spaming place , full of nothing but crap.
- Mods just abuse their power and ban members who doesn’t get along with them.
But luckily, Ranma will be bringing the forum back up in a couple of days. Yay!

Nah, I don’t think it’s a domino effect. More coincidental than anything else. But I guess these shutdowns should be expected given the high costs + unstable revenue model.

I have been a long member of AO. It’s unfortunate that these things happen. I really want AO to be back.

I was an AO member for a while as well. It was a well-run forum. So, it’s all the more unfortunate these things happen.

well i think that it is a domino effect 3 sites have been killed due to circumstances such as this…cant ppl find better things to do than ruining sites?

vipertongn: As I said in comment No. 2, I don’t think it’s a domino effect, but any sort of disbanding when it comes to established communities always hurts.

Well then, as some of you may have noticed… It’s gone for ever… After the last DDOS attack, Ranma wrote the following on #animeotaku@irc.rizon.net: “RIP AnimeOtaku”…
So this is indeed a sad day for everyone that’s used to drop by there at least once every day =’(

Glad someone posted about this, I haven’t been able to get to a computer for a bit and just got on and couldn’t access AO, been a member for a few years now. Sad to see it go down that way but I hope it comes back up!!

hey shade… if you had read the post you would realise that it happened in january.. the site has gone down many times after that and is down again.
I assume its a DoS attack but I am not sure…
well try to read the topic before jumping to conclusions

I’m also a very long member of AO.I trully hope that the site will come back,too me it was one of the best ones there is.I don’t think it’s a DoS attack again but you never know i guess…

Blame Kane aka Tazmo for it … he is the one that attacking Animeotaku.
and Kevin is behind all of this, he is the one that controlling two fictional character Kane & Tazmo the person that ruin down all free service ddl anime.
If you loves Animeotaku … put away your simpathy for Kevin, for all his paysite (stoptazmo, narutofan, national-anime and all it’s affiliates).

Hy all.Just been to the AO site and it said they’ll be moving to a new,better server but it will take certain time.If you wanna learn more about it just try to open AO site and you’ll get a note about it.

for people who don’t know, AO is open once again, in a temporary server. Apparently ranma needs donations to buy the new one, so drop by if you can
