Anirupt Distro - Anime Direct Downloads Site

Site Is Dead

I really need a more imaginative way of titling these posts. Typing “Anime Direct Downloads Site” or “Another Anime Direct Downloads Site” really feels crappy, lol.

Anyway, back to the meat:

1) Anirupt Distro

  • Speed: Above Average (had bursts initially, but slowed down)
  • Content: The most recent episodes of many ongoing series (e.g. Karin, Magikano, Bleach, Mai-Otome, MAR, Mushishi, etc.) , with a few eclectic choices among them (e.g. Sugar Sugar Rune, MS Igloo)
  • Update Frequency: Unsure (should be Frequent, but this has not been the case lately)
  • Video Format: .avi (High Quality)
  • Note: Free registration required. Episodes are compressed as .rar files. At the moment, uploading has ceased due to a lack of hard drive space on their server.

I really think those mundane titles are just fine. But if you really want to get imaginative, here is a suggestion: How about “OMGGG!!! Once-in-a-life-time download! Cannot be missed!!~”
    I know, that’s lame.

Lol. Ok, I’ll stick with the uber-mundane titling. Better not try to exercise my lameness.

ZMAng, my gratitude goes to you for telling us a HTTP download site as wonderful as http://www.getitfido.com/.
I was browsing through your archives just then, when I came across this gem: A HUGE repository of anime series, movies and mangas. Okay, I will admit the speed is not top-notch at 20KB/sec, nevertheless I am still very happy.

On an unrelated note, I vividly remember last year someone with a nickname of “I_F**king_hate_cluelessness” provided a gargantuan collection of anime series on IRC, the principal series being Ghost in the shell, his file server was immensely popular back then, by the time he went down, he had already transfered TBs upon TBs of data.
He said he was amazed that “I didn’t get into any trouble” for the file server.. So now we all know where all the bandwidth came from, huh?
Does any fellow anime leechers remember?

[…] I’ve finally taken found the time to make a list of the anime direct download sites reviewed here at Anime Field, and sort them according to type. For example, some sites are classified as distro sites (fast sites that serve the latest episodes), while others are classified as archive sites (slow and large sites), or forums (anime forums that offer direct downloads in exchange for forum posts).
