Anime-Manga Sound FX Glossary

Unless you are already a master of the various textual sound effects used in anime and manga, check out this comprehensive glossary featured over at Boing Boing.

A short preview:

gucha = smashing, crushing (see also gusha)
guchi guchi = wet sound? twisting sound? We’re not sure.
gui = grab (see also gaba, gu, gyu)
gui = gulp
Gunya = sudden mental realization

    haha I always wanted to know what some of those words meant.

    Some I can read and understand its english counterpart, but there are always a few that I never get.

    Damn, that’s better than me cos I didn’t know more than one third of the stuff on this glossary.
