Anime Direct Download Sites - Sorted By Type

Introduction
This page is a list of anime direct download sites, sorted by type.

For example, some are distro sites hosting the latest episodes, while others are general sites hosting completed series. Sites that are renowned for their huge anime database (and uber-slow speeds) are marked as archive sites. Common to all these sites, however, is the fact that at least some of their anime is hosted on their own media server.

There are also anime forums that provide direct downloads in exchange for forum participation (forums that do not require posts in exchange for downloads are classified as distro, general or archive sites).

Sites that have anime hosted on free file hosts are listed under free file host sites. However, this is not exclusive, and the sites mentioned could also have files hosted on their own servers (and are thus also grouped under distro, general and archive sites). Sites that only use free file hosts (i.e. do not have their own server) are marked with “Uses Free File Hosts Only”.

This principle is also holds for sites that host anime in .rm and .rmvb file formats. Sites that only host RealMedia files are marked with “.rm or .rmvb Only”.

DDL sites can come under more than one category (i.e. categories are non-exclusive). For example, some sites might fall under both distro sites and general sites because they provide both ongoing and completed anime series. Sites within a particular type are sorted alphabetically.
