Crazi-pwns-joo.com: Fansub Releases (Direct Downloads)

Sunday, March 12th, 2006

Only the most recent episode from select series (about 3, I think), but it’s fast and prompt as it is among the few direct downloads sites (e.g. chiisana.net, anime-treasures.com) that either liase with fansubbers directly or just happen to be damn fast uploaders.

1) Crazi-pwns-joo.com

  • Speed: Quite Fast (should be rated as Fast, but since this site is most useful and probably most used during the early release stage (heavy traffic), download speeds are rated for that period)
  • Content: Most recent episode from around 3 series (i.e. 3 eps. in total)
  • Update Frequency: Very regular (as new episodes are released by fansubber)
  • Video Format: .avi (HQ)
  • Note: Hassle-free site.

Dryfire.org - Anime Direct Downloads Site

Site Is Dead

Found this about a week ago when downloading Oyasumi’s version of Black Cat. It was listed in Oyasumi’s official forum threads for newly released Black Cat episodes, but it doesn’t look like a private DDL, so… its should be safe for me to feature it.

1) dryfire.org

  • Speed: Fast
  • Content: Recent episodes from 8 ongoing series and 1 movie
  • Update Frequency: Very regular (as new episodes are released by fansubber)
  • Video Format: .avi (HQ)
  • Note: No registration required at the moment. The episodes are classified according to fansubber and series.

A little sparse on the content, but it’s more than good enough if you’re looking for the latest episodes of specific series, like Black Cat, since these episodes are posted there almost as soon as the BT version is out.

Tirkx.com - Slow Anime Direct Downloads Archive

Monday, March 6th, 2006

Just like Fansub.tv, or more accurately, yurikamome.info, Tirkx.com is a really slow anime direct downloads site with a really huge archive of anime downloads. But, you won’t be surprised at how slow it is when you realise that it apparently chugs through 2TB+ of bandwidth per day. It’s hosted in Thailand, so I think you’ll only be able to get fast speeds if you’re there.

1) Tirkx.com

  • Speed: Slow
  • Content: 137+ full and ongoing anime series/movies
  • Update Frequency: Very regular (as new episodes are released through BT)
  • Video Format: .avi (HQ)
  • Note: Requires free registration. Even though they use a forum-based download system, posting is not required. Most anime series come with both an English and Thai version. Only 1 connection allowed.

Given the huge database of files, I suggest using this resource when you’re really desperate. When you’re looking for that 5-year old anime series that can’t be found anywhere else on the net (aside from pay-to-download sites and anime forums), Tirkx.com should have it.

My Greatest Apologies

Saturday, March 4th, 2006

While my posting habits have always been irregular, this past week has seen me post barely anything (or more accurately, nothing). I’ve been pretty busy with a trip to the local theme park, followed by the collecting of A-Level results (bleh), and now, with university offers and scholarship applications (just for fun, really).

Given all this, I’m afraid my posting habits will continue to be so pathetic - though I’ll attempt to smack myself into doing the easier direct download site features soon enough.
