[Downloads] Mai-Otome Ending

Saturday, December 17th, 2005

Sorry for the slow updates. Now for Mai-Otome’s ending video. Truthfully, this is one of the most boring ending videos ever (in terms of what happens on screen). You’ll understand once you see it.

Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien and Akane Maniax

Friday, December 16th, 2005

Darn, I must have been a fool. I didn’t even notice that Akane Maniax was related somewhat to Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien, THE top rated anime series on animenfo.com at the moment (and actually for quite sometime already).

I have only seen two episodes of Akane Maniax so far, but given that it is only a 3-episode OVA in the first place, I think that’s okay. Actually, I should have seen it in the name, Akane Maniax’s alternative name is Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien Gaiden (where Gaiden means “side story” in English). Here’s are the old KGNE characters in Akane Maniax:

But that’s where most of the similarity ends because Akane Maniax introduced a new character, Gouda Jouji, into the mix. He’s the straightforward, out-spoken (very…), and kind-off dumb type of guy that falls in love with Akane at first sight.

So there begins the Gouda’s chase of Akane, which is of course, not welcomed at all (most especially by Akane), at least at first. This is because Gouda’s persistence and willingness to change just for her finally reaches Akane.

What happens after that? No idea since I haven’t watched the 3rd episode of Akane Maniax yet. But so far, Akane Maniax has been nothing spectacular. In any case, I wouldn’t say that it was comparable to KGNE because it wasn’t meant to be.

So, that’s my take on it. Until next time.

Mai-Otome is an interesting series to watch, even if it is fundamentally different from the original Mai Hime. But anyway, here’s Mai-Otome’s Opening Video. Some facts about the opening theme:

Howl Wins New York Film Critics Award
Nikkan Sports reports the New York Film Critics Circle has awarded Howl’s Moving Castle with a Best Animated Film award on the 12th. The prize of this society is known foretell future Academy Award winners. Spirited Away took this same prize in 2002…

Anime News Service

Not particularly new or exciting news, but since I enjoyed Howl’s Moving Castle, this particular bit of news became rather interesting.

In any case, whether or not it manages to win the Academy Award, I’d say it would stand a better chance compared to Chicken Little…

This is definitely an excellent way to sample anime. Pity there is no subtitles though. Anyway here’s the link to the streams:

Now, I really don’t think most people who come to this blog can read Japanese, so Babelfish it. For those who do not know what Babelfish is, go here: http://babelfish.altavista.com and translate that page!

Forgive the Lack of Pictures

Monday, December 12th, 2005

As you might have noticed, my blog lacks all the pictures from the version at Blogspot. This is because I uploaded the all the pics thorough Blogspot’s free image host service. Darn. I’ll have to upload them on this server soon.

Switched to WordPress

Sunday, December 11th, 2005

I have finally switched to WordPress. The lack of in-built categorisation in Blogger finally tilted me over to WordPress. I will probably complete the transition in a few days, but until then I will continue to update Anime Field @ Blogspot.com in order to smooth the transition.

So, for a couple of weeks, I will most likely be posting in both blogs.
